Old Point National Bank is searching for a Loan Documentation & Collateral Insurance Specialist I in Hampton, VA. Banking experience preferred, but not required.

Requirements: 

  • Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel with the ability to learn other, job-specific software applications. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Essential Functions: 

  • Completes activities required to create and maintain customer credit and collateral files.  
  • Indexes scanned business and personal financial information to our document imaging software received from the bank's customers.  
  • Completes functions required to verify proper note documents are on file.  
  • Completes functions required to verify, document, and maintain proper collateral on bank loans; generates exceptions and citing's to document deficiencies; takes appropriate corrective action.  
  • Responds to and resolves internal and external customer inquiries and requests. 
  • Process and enter all insurance items, record notes, and initiate loan changes based off of written procedures.  
  • Handle all customer/lender/agent insurance inquires.  
  • Distribution of weekly processing reports/notices to the lending staff.  
  • Cross trains to assist supervisors and serves as back up to other department staff.  
  • Performs all work in compliance with applicable regulations/policies and procedures.  
  • Serves as liaison with the Bank's third-party vendor for tracking and force-placing Insurance, performing the associated tasks.  
  • Performs all work in compliance with applicable regulations/policies and procedures.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
