In this role, each day will offer you something new and different. You’ll be responsible for repairing various types of construction machinery and components, including material handling equipment, rough terrain and crawler cranes and forklifts, lattice boom cranes, construction and mining equipment, crushing and screening equipment, and more!

The ideal candidate would have the following:
5+ years of work experience in heavy equipment industry using hydraulic skills as a diesel mechanic
Must have your own tools
Must have good driving record and valid driver’s license
Must have or be willing to obtain a CDL-A license

Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises the safe start-up, shutdown, and efficient operation of the ice plant.
Coordinates with local branch to ensure production resources (labor, materials, and equipment) match production demand.
Communicates operational status on a continual basis to the Plant and Branch Managers.
Complete Safety observations and one on one safety conversations with each associate
Completes written evaluations and annual reviews of production associates.
Leads, trains, and disciplines production associates to ensure compliance with Airgas policies and procedures.
Tracks supply inventories to ensure that proper materials are on-hand for production needs.
Knows and complies with all safety and quality policies and procedures.
Identifies and facilitates the correction of all safety hazards and quality deficiencies.
Operates a forklift on an occasional basis to meet production needs.
Tracks production performance in all areas and completes 5S and housekeeping audits
Perform basic maintenance on all equipment
70% of the time within an unconditioned workspace (i.e. warm in summer, cool in winter). Hazards required the use of personal protective equipment (i.e. hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes). Dry ice is extremely cold, and therefore requires that gloves be worn when directly handling dry ice.
30% of the time in an office setting (i.e. desk/computer station.
On-call and shift work required.

Operate CNC lathe or mill per standard work instructions. (Haas and Okuma experience a Plus).
Can read Vernier calipers, micrometers, and blue prints.
Make necessary tooling adjustments.
Run machine and meet daily production targets
Starts and stops machines as required to maintain quality, safety and production efficiency
Regularly required to take detailed measurements with Micrometers, Calipers, and Pi tapes.
Set up standard jobs with little or no assistance
Communicate with Lead or area Manager about any issues or problems in production immediately
Can set up existing standard programs. Also some non-standards with minimal assistance
Can trouble shoot and resolve basic problems
Perform preventive and basic maintenance on required equipment.
Actively participate and support the plant’s safety program. Report any injury or near miss immediately to your Group Lead or EHS Manager. Report all unsafe conditions immediately to a Group Lead, Value Stream Manager or EHS Manager.
Actively participate in the High Performance Team designated for your area. The HPTs are meant to improve the work experience by allowing the employees an opportunity to offer suggestions for improvement.
Record accurate and timely data, including order completions and quantity on daily labor reports, reclaim tickets, for reject parts and daily hours worked.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Keep all walkways and aisle free of any debris or clutter. Maintain 5S standards by returning tools to shadow boards. Sweep floor and finishing area as needed.
Daily attendance is a requirement of the job, as is arriving on time. Overtime is expected when customer demand dictates the need.
Other duties as assigned.
